The Riverside Township is proud to announce they have awarded a Grant in the amount of $3,846.72 to the North Riverside Public Library.
Awarded on August 6, 2019, the North Riverside Public Library plans to use the funds to purchase mobile cabinetry and tables for new Makerspace areas. The library’s goal is to be able to utilize these new areas in a variety of ways. Being able to reconfigure the space as needed now, and in the future, will ensure longevity of the space as time changes.
The library anticipates serving 20-40 unique patrons to start. As programs grow, staff anticipates that number will climb. All of the library’s Makerspace areas are open for use to anyone. Checking out the “Library of Things” items are limited to North Riverside residents. Makerspace areas are seen as areas where residents can be creative, make something, and learn a new skill. These areas include items like: Glowforge (laser engraving), an embroidery machine, Cricut and Silhouette, digital cameras, VHS to DVD converters, cassette to CD converters and much more.
