What type of items are available in the Nurse’s Closet?
The Nurse’s Closet carries crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs, bath/shower chairs, commodes, and toilet seat risers.
Who can borrow items?
Any Township resident can borrow items from the Nurse’s Closet. All we ask is that you complete a form in our office and provide proof of current residency.
Do I have to pay to use them?
No, the service is free.
How long can I borrow items?
We allow items to be loaned for up to 3 months maximum. If you need an item longer than that, then you can call the office and ask for the possibility of an extension.
Who do I contact to arrange pickup of items?
You can call the main Township Office number or just stop into the office, Mon – Thurs from 9 am – 3:30 pm, Fri from 9 am – 2:30 pm.
Where does your medical equipment come from?
Every piece of medical equipment comes from the generous donations of individuals in the community.
Are you in need of donations for more (or specific) items?
The Township will always accept donations of basic, durable medical equipment that is clean and in decent, usable condition. Wheelchairs are often in short supply.
What should I do if I want to donate to the Nurse’s Closet?
If you would like to donate to the Nurse’s Closet, please call the office ahead of time to arrange drop-off of your items, so that we can ensure staff is on hand to assist you if needed.
Are there certain items you don’t accept donations of?
Yes, we do not accept large items like medical beds, lift chairs, scooters, or other mechanical/electronic equipment.
