What type of exercise class is it? What will I be doing? The class incorporates basic stretching and light aerobics focused on strength and conditioning, balance, and mobility maintenance.
Are there modifications available if I can’t do a particular move? Yes. Our instructor runs various circuits and each is designed to be modified to fit the needs of the individual.
What should I bring to participate? You just need to bring yourself. We suggest you wear attire appropriate for moving and exercising. Bottled water is provided.
Are classes really free? Yes, free for Township residents. No registration required.
Who can attend the exercise class? Any Township resident can attend and while the classes aren’t exclusively for seniors, most of the participants are elderly individuals.
Who teaches the exercise classes? The class is taught by Jerry Owen, Ph.D., PT, CSCS. With over 16 years of experience in the health and nutrition industry, Jerry Owen is a licensed nutritionist and personal fitness trainer, as well as a local Township resident.
What benefits can I expect from participating? Exercise is all about how much dedication and effort you put into it! Maintain your coordination and mobility, burn a few calories, increase you level of health and fitness, even socialize a bit with other residents. The class is what you make it!
