How is the Mental Health Board related to the Township?
The volunteer members of the Mental Health Board are appointed by the Township Supervisor and approved by the Township Trustees. While the Mental Health Board operates independently, it coordinates closely with Township government to make sure that resources are available locally to promote a high quality of life for all Township residents.

The Mental Health Board, by State statute, focuses on the areas of mental health and substance abuse and developmental disabilities. The Board issues contracts to local agencies to provide services for Township residents. Currently, the core agencies are:

Yes, the funds allocated by the Mental Health Board are for the exclusive benefit of Township residents.
Who should I contact if I need mental health support?
The Mental Health Board has recently launched an information and referral service, based at Township Hall. The Community Resource Center is staffed on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9-11 am and 4-6 pm. Staff are also available on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. Township residents may call this Center at 708-853-9578. Calls received outside of the hours listed are returned promptly within one to two days.
