The Cook County Assessor is now open for property tax appeals from Riverside Township residents. The deadline to appeal with Cook County is Friday, July 22nd by 11:59 pm. This is the last year of the triennial; if you have received positive appeal results in the past two years, then it may not be necessary to file an appeal this year. In 2023, Riverside Township will be reassessed, starting a new triennial appeal cycle.
Cook County Assessor’s Office now requires all appeals to be filed online. Property owners who have a computer and internet access are able to file an appeal from the comfort of their homes by visiting the online portal, here: https://www.cookcountyassessor.com/online-appeals
Locally, the Riverside Township Assessor’s Office is happy to provide assistance to Township residents when filing their appeals with Cook County. They are available to:
- Help property owners determine the best reason to file an appeal
- Provide comparable properties to support a case for lack of uniformity
- Ensure supporting evidence and documentation is complete
- Assist, in person, those who do not have a computer or internet access
There are many reasons to file a property tax appeal and the Riverside Township Assessor, Fran Sitkiewicz, and her office staff are available to assist and offer guidance Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. After hours and evening appointments are available by request. You can call the Township Assessor’s Office at (708) 447-7700 or reach them via email at: [email protected].
