The Riverside Township Assessor’s Office is always here to act as an advocate for local property owners and to ensure taxpayers have their property fairly and accurately assessed. The Cook County property tax system is a complicated one and the Township Assessor can assist taxpayers in navigating their way through it.
The Township Assessor’s Office provides a multitude of property tax services including, but not limited to: assistance with appeals, exemptions, certificates of error, and property tax estimates. The office can also help with finding the taxpayer the best comparable properties for appeals and with filing all the appropriate documentations with the county and state. Not having the right documentation can stall or void applications for appeals, exemptions, certificates of error, and any possible refunds of overpaid real estate taxes.
The Township Assessor and her staff are available to address any and all concerns Township residents may have regarding their property taxes. Their office is located on the 3rd floor of the Town Hall and is open regularly Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. It is recommended that residents call ahead of time and make an appointment, as the office can become overwhelmingly busy at times.
