The Riverside Township Community Resource Center was recently awarded the honor of “Innovative Senior Program of the Year” by the Illinois Township Association of Senior Citizen Services Committees. Every year, ITASCSC awards individuals and organizations that provide outstanding commitment to meeting the needs of older adults within their various township communities.
Congratulations go to Susan Bertuglia, Amber Grzeda, Chris Ward, the Riverside Township Mental Health Board, and to all those involved from partnering agencies that assisted individuals with finding the aid they needed and that helped to make the Resource Center a success.
The Community Resource Center’s mission is to provide individuals and families with guidance and referrals for aging services, benefits counseling, intellectual & developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance abuse services. The Resource Center is a joint effort between the Riverside Township Mental Health Board and these area agencies: Aging Care Connections, UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago, and The Way back Inn.
The Community Resource Center is available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 am – 11:00 am and 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, as well as Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. A Community Care Coordinator can always be reached by calling (708) 853-9578 or via email at: [email protected].
