The Riverside Township is proud to announce that a Grant in the amount of $10,000 has been awarded to PeopleCare, Inc.
The funds were awarded on November 19, 2019, and will be used to continue to serve the elderly. This includes, but is not limited to, general operating, staff development, increase in socialization opportunities, increased marketing efforts to reach more homebound seniors, and increased efforts for volunteer recruitment and training.
PeopleCare, Inc. serves the communities of Brookfield, LaGrange Park, Lyons, North Riverside, and Riverside. Within those communities, PeopleCare served over 9,800 residents last year and that number will only continue to grow. The organization relies on the donated time and energy of over 40 volunteers who contribute more than 2,900 hours annually. PeopleCare’s services are provided free of charge to individuals without financial means and are offered on a sliding scale to those with greater capacity. No one is ever turned away due to lack of financial resources.
