The 2021 Cook County Assessor appeal session for Riverside Township is now open. The deadline to file a property tax appeal is Saturday, May 22, 2021. The Riverside Township Assessor’s Office is available to assist residential taxpayers with their appeals during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, from 9 am – 2 pm. After hours and evening appointments are available upon request, but please contact the Township Assessor’s Office first at (708) 447-7700 or send an email to: assessor@riversidetownship.org and include your name, address, and phone number.
The Township Assessor can assist residents with providing comparable properties to support a case of lack of uniformity, make sure supporting evidence and documentation is complete, and aid property owners in determining the best reason to file an appeal. However, under current COVID-19 restrictions, it is impossible for the Township Assessor to see the same number of people in person as in the past. The number of in-person appointments must be limited, but fortunately, the online appeal process is quick and easy and can be done from the comfort of your home.
The Cook County Assessor’s Office now requires all appeals to be filed online. Property owners who have a computer and internet access can file an appeal themselves here, but if you need assistance in the online filing process, the Township Assessor’s Office is happy to provide instructions and supporting documentation. Residents who do not have access to a computer, or are unable to file on their own, are encouraged to call the Township Assessor and make an appointment.
Remember, the deadline to file an appeal with the Cook County Assessor is 11:59 pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021!
