Riverside Township will once again be sponsoring an all-day trip for residents to the Illinois State Fair in Springfield on Saturday, August 10th. The Township will provide a coach bus as transportation, set to leave at 7:45 am from in front of the Town Hall. Light refreshments will be served on the bus and the group will depart from the fairgrounds at the end of the day by 6:30 pm, to return to the Town Hall around 10:00 pm. The cost for the day trip will be $10 per adult or $25 per family, of up to 5 people; that includes admission to the fair and the coach bus transportation.
August 10th is “Kids Day” at the State Fair, a day dedicated to the youngest fairgoers and will feature special programming aimed at educating and entertaining children of all ages. Residents in attendance are free to spend the day exploring the many sights and sounds the fair has to offer, from various musical acts and entertainment, to special exhibits and attractions, carnival rides, public competitions, and unique foods. There’s a little something for everyone, so come on out and join Riverside Township for an enjoyable day-long experience.
